Re: Quantas

That is Qantas (no "u"); it originally stood for "Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services".

Re: Quantas

Our Qantas. Poor kid was either on a flight the day after the Bangkok episode, or on the flight and the message worked.

The Bangkok episode?

During the week, they landed a Jumbo at Bangkok on battery power after loosing ALL normal elec systems because of a fault 30 minutes out. Spin doctors claimed that they have a 1 hr battery backup capacity, cause of problem unknown, but was being investigated and would not affect other aircraft.

Next day problem identified as a leak in a galley sink shorting out main power buss from generators, taking out all generators, and a further 6 aircraft grounded for repair.

Glad the problem didn't appear crossing the Pacific.
