Lancia 037 replica, and Delta value in UK..

Well,
first of all would like to ask if it is true today the "Deltone Evoluzione" can have such value in UK:
http://www.classicdriver.com/uk/find/4100_results.asp?lCarID=1759571&lManufacturer=10067

It is more or less 60.000 euros:eek:

Searching around I look at italian Deltas for sale websites (and the value here is quite different, also knowing the various problems of that car in its street version....to save it properly u have to be a good mechanic.) and I found this cool website from a company in Pistoia producing some replica livery of the deltone:

HF il Cavallino S.r.l. - lancia delta specialist___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ lancia delta lanciadelta lancia delta integrale lancia delta 4wd cavallino hf e-commerce catal

Yes..of course u have to talk or read at least a little "tricolore" to understand, but looking around the website u can find the cars there for sale (at a bargain price if compared to UK one).

Even redirect to theme is this cool aucion about the replica of the 037 Martini Gruppo B:
AutoScout24: Il grande Automercato europeo delle auto usate e nuove

they say it was used the Beta Montecarlo (as the real 037 was..)

i copy here the text:
RALLYE "037" REPLICA, based on and original BETA cockpit, we have done this fabolous replica with stamps and material directly from original 037 we recently bought. We can provide for clints any kind of colors, engines and wheels. Don't confused it with poor english kits! Car will be shown at the next PADOVA FAIR on 26-27-28 October 2007 - Building 14.

basis price (kit version) seems to be 18.500 euros (body panels, without the beta montecarlo).

;)note they also say "don't confused it with poor english kits" :D LOL...and don't blame me for my english then :D:D.

Wonder why there is here a common idea of the poor quality of british kits.
I've seen it, to me seems quite different the reality...but u already wellknow I think different since many years...

The most important classic car magazine in Italy (Ruoteclassiche) made some years ago a comparison between the real Stratos and the Hawk vehicle.
The article (done about 5 yrs ago) was very clear and they also say Hawk stratos was simply PERFECT and from some point of view even better than the original project (Italian Hawk was driven by professional rally drivers, testing it in the hardest way possible).

Back to 037, think today is now possible to have (also if only in replica)almost all historical lancias (startos, 037, delta and s4).

Are there many MonteCarlos(Scorpian-US) left on the roads in Italy or are they being used to make 037 or 030 clones. I also liked the Fiat Abarth 131 in Rally colours.

No, not so easy neither here, also cause the Beta Montecarlo-Scorpion was a very nice car, today 100% historical (and the few ones saved are usually in great conditions).
Such lancias are loved in Italy, and its value here is around 20.000 dollars.
Consider down here is very unusual to take parts from vehicles cause u cant assembly an own kitcar.
Surely those 037 replicars are titled as standard beta montecarlo, cause very similar vehicles (think there are about 10 real 037s surviving in the world being B group specs,so 10% of 200 vehicles..).
It is cool anyay they started provide a basic kit to have the first italians replica cars. :)

Paolo,
I only drove one Delta, it was alright but it was not a rally car. I drove the Scorpian that was in town too and helped the guy that owned do a few repairs too. I think it was a 76. I don't know what happened to it. I know that my old car is still on the road. I kept it in very good shape and never drove it in the winter and kept the chassis oiled. I owned it for five years and sold it for what I paid for it. I guy I sold it to drove it for five years also and traded it for an older Mercedes. The guy he traded to owned a garage in Toronto. (Italian) He still has the car. I think because Fiat stopped shipping to North America and I had tricked it out with so many Abarth parts.

Buy the Italian Delta for sale, drive to London and sell it for 60K Euro, buy a GTD40 with the money then drive it back to Italy - EASY.:D

ihihhi..Bill, will love it if really so easy:D
Official Lancia have a very restrictive register in Torino.
A friend of mine sold a stunning EVO Martini to a japanese for 50.000 euros (73.000 usd..)but they come to Italy with a professionist pilot, and they went before in Turino to have official papers from the Lancia register.
That car was impressive, he bought from an asshold destroing her 2.0 turbo engine with BS as Nos for drag races, and the car had a blowed engine after only 200 miles on odo.
He payed the car not running for 10.000 euros, and resell at 50.000 (with a brand new engine) but today is nearly impossible to find a good car also here (unfortunately seems the destiny of this car is to be killed by assholds..).
Suspect the "stellar" price of that british yellow one can hide a story similar to my friend's one.

I adore gt40, but Lancia (THAT Lancia) is a mith also for me,and so if I will have I will save carefully in my garage;) (sometimes ago I was going to buy one, but prefer love and save my german lady E36 Cabrio...different
Paolo at the time, probably a little bit more bimmer than today, cause I hate Chris Bangle:rolleyes:)
The last ugly one I've seen was a white one with 19 wheels and "DEBORAH TI AMO" written on the roof.... :( driven by a muslim.

Rallye 037 replica kits website

This is the only english 037 replica that I know of. Do you think this is the one they were refering to in the advert under the rather general "poor english kits"?

Is there anyone making accurate 037 replicas using a montecarlo tub and then grafting on the spaceframe rear end etc. Pressumably the turbo and supercharger arrangement would be difficult to replicate.

thats the point.
the 037 was based over the beta, but the race version (think the only real part in common with Scorpion-Beta street car were doors..)
Chassis was in tube (not steel mono as beta) and the engine was a LITTLE different wasnt it?.

This can be anyway an idea for someone I know from UK living in Michigan and producing some wonderful cars (and loving also italian lancias..)
Fraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan..can u hear meeeeeeeee :)))):D

Rallye 037 replica kits website

These guys were at Stoneleigh 2007 with an 037 road car replica. A lot of links on their web don't seem to work so not sure if it's just a badly designed website or they are no longer doing it??

The replica on the home page looks pretty good [OK a lot high but I think it was empty] (but the road car they had at the show looked pretty good; well with some odd plating underneath that could be done a lot prettier if done at home) as it was based on a Beta mono with an extended spaceframe back end I think. They claimed all panels (inc the double bubble roof) were moulded off an original car)

Martin Kift (sp) in the UK,makes an almost identical 037 in battledress livery...

The other one mentioned is based on a Monte with stock wheelbase....

There is a red 037 rep. in the UK that was built in the States a few years ago ...very nicely done but the builder was burned out with the car and sold it on...Jeff Davison was the builder I think.

I did a personal O37 style car based on a Monte/Scorpion a few years ago...wish I still had it.....
There is a guy named Roger Gratham that was making flared Scorpion bodykits , in the USA and they looked pretty good as a fun non authentic car...

Fran,
I saw a 76 Scorpian in Georgia for sale $ 2500.00 on the web. ( Google Search)
The only problem with the cars is getting one with the body not rotting out. being a southern car it may be all right.

I have a pal in Ca. that has 12 of them nesting in his lot....crazy man....he has begged me to take one/all but I have more than enough projects to do.....
