Boyd Coddington - Dead at 63

Breaking: Boyd Coddington dies at age 63 - Autoblog

Wasn't a big fan of his show as they scripted him to be such a self-centered bufoon - but I stand in awe of his many creations and those created by his company...

RIP Boyd...

Re: Boyd Coddington - Dead at 63

RIP Boyd.

It's true... TV has always portrayed him as you describe, and they have protrayed Chip Foose as the more friendly and natural type... But you can never judge a person by what you see on TV... And by that I don't mean that Chip isn't friendly and natural.

Thumbs down Re: Boyd Coddington - Dead at 63

Boyd didn't look healthy when I saw him on the salt flats during Speedweeks. He wore support stockings, moved slowly and went to the motorhome the instant filming was finished. Another hotrod legend gone.

Speaking of hotrod legends, Ed Iskenderian looked as healthy as ever, bouncing from table to table greeting everyone at the 200MPH Banquet in Wendover.

Re: Boyd Coddington - Dead at 63

If he allowed himself to be portrayed in such a way then you have to wonder - what was the modivation? He sure seemed an idiot in his own show (?) I thought it might be a phony work place because NOBODY I know would be willing to work in such an antagonistic environment..... just not healthy.... but maybe that's who he was?

No one can deny his talent as a car builder, not my style but it was some really spectacular stuff for sure.
