Chuck, thanks for the add'l perspective on Obama - some new information there for me that will provoke some further dialog and study. A shame that James find it offensive. Frankly, while he believes that strangers shouldn't talk politics (among other things), many folks on this forum (such as James) are indeed not strangers to eachother, so, where's the prohibition? Can't we all just chill a little and get along?

I would think you could figure out my agenda by reading the article, if not, then you have other issues you should consider looking into. I said "I" did not want start a debate, but it appears you do.

OK Guys,

I have given much thought as to how to express my feelings on the matter of our leadership or potential leadership and for me it comes down to just a few principal issues that should affect our decisions as Americans who want an America to survive.

I want us to be safe. Safety can and in my opinion needs to be looked at in a number of ways that include:
1) Need to sustain military strength. 2)Continued supply of energy not just in the future with various technologies yet underdeveloped but, NOW; and unfortunately for now that means it's mandatory to keep oil and gas flowing in ways and with alliances that I don't necisserialy approve of but, are needed FOR NOW to keep the lights on. Since Regan defeated Communism we had a number of administrations both Dem and GOP that SHOULD have made it a national priority to develop Nuclear and an "energy independance policy" 3)Effort to ID all illegals (they are not undocumented, they ARE illegal) find a way to fairly deal with them and at same time we really need to enforce laws on the books and adjust our immegration policies to adress our needs for skilled and unskilled.
4) I want a president who will appoint supreme court justices who will ABIDE by the constitution...This is a big one for me.

So...Although I too feel that as usual we don't have the best our country could offer us as candidates (and in my opinion the reason for that is to a great extent the role our media plays in "choosing for us") we need to pick from who is available and I will choose based on my criteria above.

Lets see, we have had 8 years of American “Nazi” party, the Reppooplicans. And before that, we had 8 years of American “Communist” party, the Democraps.

Foreign Policy, Both parties acknowledge that for OIL they will rape, pillage, kill and do what is required to make sure we all have petrol for our Plastic GT40s. Anybody (dogs and cats included) in any corner of the world that does not agree with this policy will be branded a terrorist!

Health Care, Both parties acknowledged there is a problem and both of them did NOTHING the last 16 years, and WILL not do anything for the next 16.

Religion and social issues, both parties are afraid to DEATH of gays, “corruption” of the family unit, stem cell research. Ironically one party has numerous closet homosexuals and the other has unfaithful spouses. The reason IMHO, is that both parties were created by “Intelligent Design”, FOR SURE.

AND FINALLY,,,,the Economy,,,,I have to admit when the “Natzis” are in power,, I have lots more money in my pocket. Regulations that I personally hate (regardless of whether they are good for mother earth or not) are removed so I can have more fun. The only downside is that I always see more destitute and homeless folks when I go to my adoptive town of Oakland (small downside,,,it does not affect me anyway,,,right?)
On the other hand, when the “Communists” are in power, I have less money in my pocket and lots of useless regulations (not all of them). I do however see the price of my house increase gradually and my funds in stock market look better. Oh one more thing,,I still see homeless and destitute people in the street (just not as much).

In my NOT so humble Opinion,,Hillary and John Boy are identical to one another. If they were running against one another, I would vote for Johny Boy at least he is honest about his STUPID idea of staying in Iraq for 100 years.

it is somewhat interesting that many have assumed that I am a McCain or Bush supporter since I placed the article here. I have never touted either of those canidates here nor have I touted Hillary. My agenda was to simply expose mr obama for what I think he is, since he has dodged most hardballs by the media. It appears that may be changing with his recent dodge around his association with the inflammatory racist pastor of his. We all deserve to at least know the real person we are voting for. McCain and Clinton have been drug through the mud for years , so we know their stands for the most part, and I have no particuliar love for either of them. Mr Obama has pandered to most every group with out specifically saying what he really stands for. It seems that may now be changing. I would assume there are liberal and conservative people on this forum, from all walks of life and locations, that is fine by me, in fact it is healthy. Very few of us cubby hole into one group or the other perfectly, that is why the middle is the most crowded. I can take most any shot that is thrown my way and not take my toys and go home because of it, but at least know what you are shooting at before you pull the trigger, you might hit someone on your side.

The one thing I wish we DID copy from US government is to have a limit of two terms in office. Thatcher and Blair both went one round too long and both the country and they suffered as a result.
