New PORSCHE Museum

By the end of this month Porsche will open it´s brand new museum to the public.

Here are the first impressions:

One of the nice features, aside from 962s racing upside down on the ceiling, will be cabins called "sound showers" where by choice you can get a highly intensive shower by the sounds of 911s, 904s and last but not least the 917. The 917 sound shower is said to be spectacular.

That is a tad different from the old museum that I first visited on the back lot of the Zuffenhausen factory. That was in 1978. My wife and I had the whole place to ourselves for several hours. My wife put several chairs together and went to sleep while I was crawling around on the floor looking at cars. There wasn't even an attendent there. I had total access to the cars including the 917-30. The monster 16 cylinder motor was just setting on a roll around table collecting dust.
