Indy 500

I'm looking forward as always to the 500. To me it really is quite the bomb. When I first attended the race , I was amazed how big the track was, the immense size of the main grandstand area and the overall show that goes with the thing.

When they play the anthem, read the invocation and hear Jim Nabors sing " Back home again in in Indiana " the weight of the moment really is palpable.

The place has a special aura much like Churchill Downs and the old Yankee Stadium had.

If you get the chance to go there, do it. You'll love it!

I've been around the track and was surprized how small, narrow the track seemed and how small the walls were! In person, it's not as banked as it looks on TV. It's tough to look at the tire marks on the walls knowing what caused them. You can't help, but not feel the history there!
