Who are these people?

Barack Hussein Obama, Barry Obama, Barry Soetoro, Barack Soetoro, Barry Dunham, and Barack Dunham.
I only thought that criminals did this!
This country was on drugs last November!

Hi Al -

This is a car forum...and I understand that this is the "Paddock" where "anything goes". You've made your political views clear to anyone with an IQ over 10 but really - are you serious with this (no disrespect intended - I fully support your right to post what you believe/think)? I've seen and read so much of this garbage about who "he" is it is rediculous. He is OUR President, he IS an American citizen, he is NOT an Arab, and I don't care what religion he is as long as he swears to uphold the Constitution of this amazing country (he IS a Christian by the way - if that matters). Is he perfect - I doubt it - are you perfect - I doubt it - I KNOW I'm not (and I'm sure George W. Bush isn't - nor were any of the Presidents before him). All anyone can do in his position is their best. I support the President, Congress and Senate in their difficult positions and I make my opinions known through my vote.

If people start to believe everything that is posted on the internet or broadcast on the "news" then we as a country are in trouble (IMHO). Unfortunately, we are not living in the times of Walter Cronkite.

If you don't agree with the way things are going then write your Congressman or run for office.

With respect,
Dave L

Can we start to post stuff on cars now????

Quote (he IS a Christian by the way - if that matters). And you have more proof of this than I do of the aliases? I too believe that you have a right to your beliefs as I do to mine. I don't know if all of those names belong to him, but some of them do. Why not just present a birth certificate and be done with it? I had to show one to join the National Guard.

Dave -why did you reply at all? Posts without a reply go away quick. Was because Al hit a nerve and insulted the messiah?
How would you know that BHO is a Christian? Did CNN tell you?
There is really no public discussion anymore in this country as the whitehouse controls the media. If it wouldn't be for internet forums I wouldn't know that there are so many like minded people out there.
I am fedup and angry that so many of my fellow americans are losing their jobs and their homes and their cars when there is such an easy way to bring this country around like lowering taxes, drilling for domestic oil and cutting back the entitlement program.
I said it before and I say it again. In january of 1933 Germany voted in a national socialist who everybody loved and who caused eventually the deaths of millions of people.
In November of 2008 we voted in a world socialist. So far he is on track to repeating history......

It’s a little sad to seeing how this site has gone from a rather pleasant experience into nothing more than a few bitter men regurgitating Hannity, Limbaugh, Beck, and the rest of the hard right and their talking points on a daily basis. So far in this thread I’ve seen Obama’s faith questioned, his place of birth questioned, and a thinly veiled suggestion he’s comparable to Hitler during the rise of the Third Reich in Germany before the war. Classy, very classy guys. So what’s the problem? Is it because he’s Black? Because he’s a Democrat? Both? Fact of the matter is the country was not on drugs last November and a majority of Americans voted this man into office like it or not. Deal with it. Your side lost and Obama’s the President.

And before you accuse me of being a flaming liberal, I had a great deal of respect for the old Republican Party before they drug the fringe elements into the party. I’ve been pretty much a fence sitter and it’s the type of tripe I see spewed here day after day that pushes me and many other middle of the road voters farther away from the party. You guys think you’re doing any good with your constant negativity? You couldn’t be more wrong. At best you look ill informed and at worse you look racist. If what I see here is an accurate representation of the type of people who make up the modern Republican Party, you’re going to continue to run more and more voters off.

And for the business owners here… are you just plain stupid? Do you really think it’s a good idea to voice your political views on a public forum such as this? And do you really think it’s a good idea to voice your views and opinions in such a juvenile manner? A business person should never discuss religion or politics in public because you’re just going to piss someone off. If I were in the market for products Wohlstrom or Wegener sell, do you I’d be interested in doing business with people that bitter and who express their descent in such a vile manor? You dreaming.

It amazes me to no end that nearly all the car forums I visit devolve into this type of mess. We are all better off talking about cars, and keeping the politics off the net.

Odd, and sad.

Agreed,

A rational discussion between mature adults can be an informative and thought provoking experience. This paranoid racist crap I’m continuing to see here belongs on the Free Republic web site.

Peel away the veneer of 'sincere inquiry' and you usually find raw bigotry at the core of these threads. Friedrich Otto once said, “At the heart of racism is the religious assertion that God made a creative mistake when He brought some people into being”. I guess for some on this board President Obama exemplifies this 'mistake'.

As to why we feel compelled to respond to inane posts like this? Because in the absence of objection is the presumption of concurrence. And I'm confident that screeds like this one are part of a lunatic fringe that is not representative of the vast majority of our fellow GT40 enthusiasts.

I believe we are concerned with the socialist turn this country is taking, and I am offended by the inference that I am a racist. As for business, if the present administration has it's way, small business is going the way of the dinosaur. We will be taxed into oblivion. If voicing my concern on the internet helps to change that, I will continue. The US is teetering on the edge of the toilet, I would rather not see it fall in. I am awed to be in your grown-up presence. You people do get self- righteous.

In my experience, it doesn't help change that. It pushes moderates away from you.

Plus, it invariably works to ruin good car forums and discussions.

have to agree with Al on this. Do we as citizens no longer have the right to disagree with the president? Does disagreement equate with being a racist? Is an off topic part of a car forum not entitled to post sensitive issues? Does being a business owner mean you cannot or should not question the powers that be or show support or non support for those with or without your views? this country is going down the tubes at a rate faster than ever seen in our history, I for one refuse to allow a media driven love fest to dictate my views, nor would I allow anyone on a car or any other forum to do the same. I am constantly amused at the knee jerk reaction that some have when someone else does not like Obama, they must be a racist correct? give me a break.

What did I say that is racist? And vile?
I don't know about Al but I am actually quite a happy guy and nobody that knows me would consider me bitter.
Imsa - you show the true face of today's liberal democrats. If you hear something that you do not like you resort to character assassination. Labeling me a racist. Nice touch. I suggest that you check out the boxcars that took the jews to Auschwitz for a little primer on what racism actually means.
Do you know how many jewish families were forced to leave Venezuela so far?
Barry's fistbump buddy Chavez took care of that. Ahh venezuela - a country Obama is calling a success story.
I grew up in Germany and saw my mom die in socialized health care. Took a vibrant woman with a foot infection to a special clinic, 3 month later after being forced to be in bed the whole time she had a stroke that left her brain scrambled and the decision was made to stop feeding her. Took quite some time for her to die. I will always remember that skull with skin draped over it. During those 4 months we tried to get her out and to specialists but the system would not allow it. She had to stay in bed for "observation"
That is the system Obama is advocating when he says to look to Europe for health care success stories.
Anyway Imsa you don't get it. I am looking out for your rights too. That's why I choose to reply to posts. I reply under my own name btw and do not hide behind an anonymous moniker.
Oh and before I forget. Regarding our businesses. Neither Al nor I deal in anything that fits IMSA Camaros. They are just not cool enough......

I understand, but that stuff always seems to poison the whole well.

The best forums, in that regard, that I visit about cars are IT.com and the Dodge Charger forum which don't allow this stuff at all.

This isn't "censorship" -- there are plenty of places on the net to talk about politics. While I have been as guilty as anyone of doing that (talking politics on car forums), I certainly learned the error in my ways.

Yay -- now we are talking about whether we SHOULD talk about politics on car forums.....

Off to help pull that lump from your Ferd lump.

And one reason why I adamantly insist that threads remain on topic and that non-car related posts all go into one catch all subforum, the paddock.

It can happen from time to time.

I value the paddock area when the discussion is about related interested such as airplanes, motorcycles, boats, engines, or any other sort of technical stuff.

But myself, I don't do the political discussions and have tried, somewhat unsuccessfully, to even avoid the gun topics when they crop up.

One think I thought about doing was turning off the indexing for the paddock on the "New Posts" engine. Then the paddock items would not flood the new threads area and folks that wished to read in the paddock could always do so.

Not that this will change your mind Al, but last year before the election I did go down to the Hawaii State Library's basement where the old newspapers are kept on microfilm. Both the Honolulu Advertiser and Star Bulletin had the appropriate birth announcement from the year Obama was born. The info the newspapers used came directly from the hospitals not the parents.

I also had gotten copies of my daughter's birth certificate since she needed a passport for travel. The certificate of live birth I had gotten from the State of Hawaii Health Dept. just happened to be made in the same year that Obama's COLB that was being posted on the Internet. One of my daughter's copies was even used by one of the main guys posting on the Internet to determine if Obama's COLB was a forgery. It looks identical. Some of the confusion for all this is the way Hawaii issues copies of the birth certificate. I have one from the hospital where my daughter was born and any copies must come from the health dept. They look different.

There was no info on Soetoro in the newspapers and the health dept. did not have that name in their database. The Lieutenant Governors office which handles name changes had no records of a name change in either direction.

I did not support Obama, even coming from a state that overwhelmingly did, and having a daughter who graduated from the same high school as he did. I do support accuracy and IMHO the COLB is a dead issue and time and money spent on it would be better used to support other competent people. Aloha.

I believe we are concerned with the socialist turn this country is taking, and I am offended by the inference that I am a racist.

You invite such inferences when your 'concern' takes the form of ad homonym attacks. That is usually the resort of those that are either bereft of a cogent argument or harboring malevolent and unstated objections.

In this case you started a thread that implies that the President is a criminal. If your genuine concern is socialism - real or imagined - attributing a string of aliases to Obama hardly advances a well-reasoned attack on his fiscal policy.

Kim, even though your dialogue might impress your high school english teacher, the point you try to make is neither correct or well reasoned.
