Autosports International

Over here in England for work and I was able to build in a visit to the Autosports International show in Birmingham. The show is really well done and was very enjoyable. Mainly focused on race parts, race cars, and the like and I feel it is a unique exhibition for car enthusiasts. Very much like.

I didn't take too many pictures but I did take one of a GT40 replica, a CAV, with some of the booth girls. Malcolm shot one of me with some American iron whilst we were visiting with a vendor. Lots and lots of neat stuff to look at.

Anyone else here in the UK attend the show or planning to visit?

Hey Ron, welcome to the UK mate. Is that motor going in the Lola? If so, I hope it's a Ford Hemi,,

Looks like a great event Ron. I've been to the NEC at Birmingham for a couple of automotive related events too....it's really impressive to see how nutty the brits are about cars too. Definitely a lot of fun - never met a brit I didn't like right away.

Kinda hard to focus on the GT40 there with the show "accessories" around/draped on it. One thing I'll say for it, speed bumps are going to be a big problem....

Enjoy that warm beer. If you get time, the country pubs have good beer, good food and friendly people.

Hi Ron,

I could have met you but am flying back to the UK from Chicago tomorrow night and the show will be over. Hope you enjoyed it.

I travel over here fairly often, well, not as often as I'd like but once or twice per year on average. Not always time for pleasure though and this time work starts this morning and concludes Sunday night.

I'm hoping to be back with the family in March or Summer for a week long visit. Maybe I'll get to catch up with some of you then.

Ron,
I'm glad that you had a great time.
March is still a very cold month here so it would be more enjoyable with your family if you came over in the summer time.
Then you might make it to Goodwood ?
