STOVL aircraft

In Mexico they are trying to build a stealth aircraft, but they have found the stealth characteristics of adobe troubling.

Pete. I know little about fighters and my specialist subject a few years back was Surveillance, ECM/ESM and Antisubmarine Warfare. As an aside I can go back in time and tell you that RAF pilots were checked out and operated the U2 in the 60's which I don't think is a big secret nowadays. I guess they still don't talk about it though. We certainly have some unusual aeroplanes in the R.A.F. but nowhere near as many as the U.S.A.F. though I think they are mostaly ISTAR compatible. Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance. The Nimrod the R.A.F lost in Afghanistan was a high value target in that sense, and we managed to shoot ourselves down with that aeroplane.
Area 51, the Skunk Works, - I'm sure it still goes on. Most of the current fancy machines we didn't know much about until they became operational. Don't you just love it. I think it's quite fantastic really.

David, ( i'm reliably informed ) as in the 2 Otters that monitor phone conversations over northern cities such as Bradford and Leeds, between members of our Asian cousins.
They use sophisticated software, to match up voice signatures that were recorded in Afghanistan, speaking in English , therefore confirming who has been travelling where.
Adding this faux pas to filling out my Census form in ' Klingon ' Oops ! Now i'll be arrested.

There you go. We have 51 Squadron closely allied to GCHQ and currently operating the extended life Nimrod R operating out of Akrotiri in Cyprus and flying a patrol along the Libyan coast - and shortly to be operating the Air Seeker (Boeing Rivet KC135) [ironically these 707 aircraft are much much older than the Nimrod they are replacing]. Part of their remit is to monitor any electronic emissions especially monitoring phone calls. They carry a large crew (20+)of language specialists. The current computing power is apparently phenomenal and will increase 100 fold with the new aeroplane. Allegedly.
They would say that wouldn't they.

That's incredible,

I'm very impressed by how stable in vertical flight it is!

Do they use GPS or inertia to hold in one spot like that?
