bonneville Speed week

When is Bonneville speed week, is it worth going.
What can you see while there.
Any info would be good because if I go it's not on my door step

I have not gone to the salt flats myself but few members of of a ar club I belong to have raced there many times.
Their words are if you are thinking about going then go and experiance it.
The pits are open to the public but you can not see much of the track as it is 7 plus miles long!!!
I land speed race on the hot top tracks that are 1 and 1-1/2 miles long with the ECTA and LTA.
