Bill Cosby "I'm 83 and Tired"

"I'm 83 and Tired" Worth reading.....

This should be required reading for every man, woman and child in Jamaica,
the UK , United States of America , Canada , Australia and New Zealand and
to all the world...

"I'm 83 and I'm Tired"

I'm 83. Except for brief period in the 50's when I was doing my National
Service, I've worked hardsince I was 17. Except for some serious
health challenges, I put in 50-hour weeks, and didn't call in sick in nearly
40 years. I made a reasonable salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my
income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, it looks as
though retirement was a bad idea, and I'm tired. Very tired.

I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who
don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take
the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy
to earn it.

I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I
can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and
daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight
offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't
"believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning
teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the
genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and
Shari'a law tells them to.

I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let
Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries use our oil money to fund mosques
and madrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in Australia , New Zealand ,
UK , America and Canada , while no one from these countries are allowed to
fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia or any other
Arab country to teach love and tolerance..

I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global
warming, which no one is allowed to debate.

I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help
support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ
rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses
or stick a needle in their arm while they tried to fight it off?

I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of all
parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful
mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting
caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.

I'm really tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and
actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination
or big-whatever for their problems.

I'm also tired and fed up with seeing young men and women in their teens and
early 20's be-deck them selves in tattoos and face studs, thereby making
themselves un-employable and claiming money from the Government.

Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 83.. Because, mostly, I'm not
going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for
my granddaughter and their children. Thank God I'm on the way out and not
on the way in.

There is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us
sends it on!

This is your chance to make a difference.

" I'm 83 and I'm tired. If you don't forward this you
are part of the problem".

I pretty much agree with this. Especially the part where drug addicts have a disease (and alcoholics) The disease is also called being an asshole. Ask me how many I see in the average shift.

Charlie,

You may want to check your facts, Mr Cosby says "I'm not 83, I'm not tired and I did not write that paper".

As most of you may know, we get essentialy this same story, over and over again, reputed to be from any number of folks........................

Some hints in the letter that should have tipped you off......................

"I put in 50-hour weeks, and didn't call in sick in nearly
40 years. I made a reasonable salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my
income, and I worked to get where I am."

He is a highly sucessful actor and entertained. When he works, I'm guessing the words "reasonable salary" do not apply.

*******

Then when he says..............

"I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of all
parties talking about innocent mistakes............"

Charlie,

You do know that he is a wealthy entertainer.................right?

Does anyone else notice the patern here.

Folks of the Right, post something that is not true, then when called on it, the say somthing along the lines of...........

Well, it could be true, I wish it was true....................

Does anyone notice a pattern here; A statement of fact becomes "untrue" because a liberal says the wrong author was credited with writing it?

Demonize the messenger when the truth can't be argued with.

The statement is true, whether Mr. Cosby agrees with it or not.

Aaaaand with a single bound Lonesome forces his way off the rails and comes back at Jimcrack, or rather comes back at Jim's crack 'cos that's the view he's got right now but it won't be for long as he has the pink sheepskin noseband well insight Jimcrack responds with his knees and together they thunder neck and neck cheek by jowl down the back stretch with the dreaded Palin ditch now in plain view will they make the huge double hump jump or will they fall at the first hurdle....will they leap to the right or swerve to the left who knows but this is exciting folks....

Hi,

I'm tired of sanctimonious grumpy old men constantly moaning on and pontificating about how tough it was for them when compared to the youth of today blah blah blah.

Thinking they are so clever , well granddad, he are a couple of examples to show you are not as original as you think you are :)

The expression of alarm over the ways of the young is certainly
nothing new. Many sources attribute a quote about the dreadful
behavior of children to Socrates. Its actual origin is in dispute, but
the dispute is an interesting one:

"The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for
authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place
of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their
households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They
contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties
at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers.

ATTRIBUTION: Attributed to SOCRATES by Plato, according to William L.
Patty

"What is happening to our young
people? They disrespect their elders, they disobey their parents. They
ignore the law. They riot in the streets inflamed with wild notions.
Their morals are decaying. What is to become of them?"

"The world is passing through troublous times. The young people of
today think of nothing but themselves. They have no reverence for
parents or old age. They are impatient of all restraint. They talk as
if they knew everything, and what passes for wisdom with us is
foolishness with them. As for the girls, they are forward, immodest
and unladylike in speech, behavior and dress."

Who wrote that, and when do you think it was written?... it is an
extract from a sermon preached by Peter the Hermit in A.D. 1274!

Finally to me summed up by a Monty Python sketch

Monty Python - Four Yorkshiremen - YouTube

Glad I'm young stallion and not an old nag ;)

Hay Nick, its good to hear from you, how have you been?

Fine thanks Jim the therapy is working well just the occasional relapse when my youth gets the better of me and I take the bait.

Good point mate - if they was in Essex like.

Should have pointed out I was playing devil's advocate I am old enough to be a granddad and I have been know on occasions to impart the sentiments in the first post onto our children. :)

No doubt they will be doing the same to their children, if they are lucky enough to have any (but not just yet).

However, having said that knowing if starting out now, firstly I would not pass an interview today for the job I do as I would not be considered qualified enough, and secondly I could not afford to live in the 1st house we bought when we got married if I was marrying today.

I do not think the youth of today have it as easy as some would have you believe.
