Mr Fechter, that story is over a year old, how about we look at some recent cases.

Here is a story ignored by the consrvative media! Republican Secratery of State convicted on SIX FELONY COUNTS.

Republican Indiana Secretary Of State Convicted Of Voter Fraud

Indiana Secretary of State Charlie White (R)

Though President Ronald Reagan called the right to vote the “crown jewel of American liberties,” many Republicans around the country have begun demanding increased voting restrictions in the name of fighting “voter fraud.” Though actual cases of voting fraud are so rare that a voter is much more likely to be struck by lightning than to commit fraud at the polls, one Republican official in Indiana has proved that lightning can strike himself.
Yesterday, a jury found Indiana Secretary of State Charlie White (R) guilty on six felony counts of voter fraud, theft, and perjury. The conviction cost White his job, though he plans to ask the judge to reduce the charges to misdemeanors and hopes to perhaps regain the position.

I want to thank Mr Fechter for starting this thread, I had no idea that such high ranking Rebublicans were commiting voter FRAUD!!!!

I guess the lame stream media is only covering minor Democratic issues.

Mr Fechter,

You started this thread, so I just assumed that you really care about voter fraud. Do you care about voter fraud or do you really only care about posting anything that you think will show Democrates in a bad light?

I read that the Indiana Republican voter fraud case so bad that the Judge was thinking of overturning the election results and awarding the Secratery of State job to the Democratic candidate. There must have been some serious fraud.

So Mr Fechter, you started this thread about voter fraud, are you outraged by the actions of these high ranking Republicans? We would like to hear your thoughts.

I just hope that one day, I get to see you two kicking the crap out of each other. Concerning politics, its all either of you are good for.

Step away from the thread people, there's nothing to see here!

Gee Mark, thanks for your insightful comments.

Mark tell me this, if someone continually started thread after thread with rude, one sided, mostly untrue attacks about things you care about, would you just sit back and say nothing?

Would you?

If this rude person would stop with these childish one sided attacks, I would be more than happy to "step away from the thread" and stop showing that there are two sides to all discussions.

You say that this sort of thing is all I'm good for?

Well buddy you have not been paying attention! I suggest that you go back over my posts, this is a car fourm, I mostly talk cars, GT40 and racing.

I'm not here to stir up shit. I'm not here to post untrue attacks. I'm not here to start thread after thread of rude one sided lies. I'm here to talk GT40s!

Mr Fechter is not here for GT40 discussions, he is here to stir up shit, that is all he is good for!

I have a GT40, I'm here to talk cars, but do not expect me to sit on my hands when somone posts lies about things I care about!

 @ Keith

Don't you get it Jim? He posts a crappy slur against your hero's, you repsond with an equally crappy slur against his! Utter tosh the pair of you, I did say and will say it again now, as that is clearly necessary to diffuse you, "Concerning politics, its all either of you are good for."

So I am not suggesting that either of you are utterly useless! Just blinded by the light of your respective parties. And they way you both defend these politcal hoodlums and self-serving deceitful rogues, does remind me of teenage girls wetting themselves and throwing their knickers at the Beatles!

I do try to pay attention. You and I have not always sat on opposite sides of an argument either, or have you forgotten?

Try watching this and chill out matey.

One other thing Jim, (sorry), but considering your post above I have to say that if you do truely care about politics as your passion suggests, why not defer from siimply slinging mud back at Bob who (I agree), tends to piss people of for jollies sometimes, but focus more on cleaning up politics.

I deplore this one-sided, sheep-like tendency, for those who proclaim their political awarness, of shouting down their opponents and defending their single party allegiances without question. Is it not conceivably possible that your side could be wrong on occasion?

Mark, its more than possable for both sides to be wrong, Mr Fechter only posts one side of the story, I try and post the other side to how that there is more than one side.

I can see that you really do not understand why I continualy go after the nasty one sided posts from Mr Fechter. If he is not attacking things you care about, or maybe you even agree with him, his hate and lies do not bother you.

You are both British, an I feel you care about your country and what folks say about it. Now I'm a big fan of the British, and these following comments are only an effort to show how these post seem to me.

As an example I have taken just a few of the threads started by Mr Fechter and have changed the group being attacked from liberal/Obama/Democrats to British.

Brits get out the vote....................by cheating
Taking History back from British lies
Another dumb ass British idea
Favorite stupid British quote of the day
Another British lie set straight
How can car enthusiasts be British
In you face British comrads
A guide to British loan Debauchery

There are many, many more, but you get the idea.

So Mark, Keith, if someone were posting those threads with attacks on things you care about, would you sit back and say nothing? Really?

Mark, Keith, now tell me, if after seeing those mostly unfair and mostly untrue attacks you then post facts to show they are untrue, or just post the opposit views.

What would you say if Folks from AMERICA then come on here and tell you just to ignor them, don't answer him, they say you are just like him, because just because you are defended things you care about.

Honestly, what would you say??????

Agreed, LB is a troll of the worst kind. I was glad to see Ron post a suggestion that the tone of our discussions become less abusive, as I enjoy reading LB's posts now and then...it's always entertaining to see what kind of demons are rambling around in his head at the moment :drunk:

I tried to get a former friend to do just as you suggest, Mark. He was so verklempt about Obama's election that he became the most dour person you could imagine. I suggested he try doing something within the political arena on a local level, county commissioner in the small Kansas county in which he lived, school board member, mayor of the small town in which he lived, that sort of stuff. He would have no part of that...in the end I had to terminate all contact with the man. When I told him I "...wanted the old **** back", he said "The old **** will return when the battle with this administration is over". He left an art book in my car after our last fishing trip together and some of the pages were filled with such vitriolic rantings against Obama that I am absolutely convinced if an attempt is made to assassinate Obama that this former friend will be involved. At 63 he had never owned a rifle, but he bought a deer gun even though he doesn't hunt. When I asked him why, he said "...reach out and touch someone"...scary, no?

Politics in America has gotten to the point that there are very few shades of grey. Republicans seem to be trying to "out-conservative" their primary oponents, even to the point that today one of our long-standing politicians announced he would not run for re-election due to the extreme polarization of the two dominant parties and the fact that "compromise" seems to be a nasty word to both parties.

Both sides are wrong, Mark...neither is working for the public's good, it is a down 'n' dirty fight to totally anhialate the other party. There really are no left-leaning Democrats left, only "moderates", and there really are no "moderate" Republicans left, only extreme right-wing "Conservatives".

It is truly a sad state of affairs that the American public finds foisted upon them...no good choices, so I and most of my friends find ourselves voting for the one who is NOT the worst choice.

I really wish it were different, but sadly the impasse between Jim and LB is quite reflective of the current state of state and national politics in America...they should all be ashamed of themselves for losing sight of what they were elected to do, which is represent their constituents, regardless of whether their own political views agree with their constituency or not.

Sad.....

Doug

Thank you Doug. You have answered Jim better and more eloquently than I could have done. You describe the system exactly as I feel it to be. Not only in the USA, but also here, though not quite as 'in yer face'. Th rot of corruption and and the lack of respect for public money, that we see in Politicians here, is however, exactly similar on both sides of the Atlantic.

Alrighty Jim, whilst I cannot proclaim myself to have the authority of the whole British population, to speak on their behalf, I do however offer the following in response to your comments. I invite my fellow countryment to correct me at will if I have spoken out of turn.

1. To be a 'fan' of the British, you ought to know us a little better. I don't feel as though British people expect, want or need any 'fans'. We like friends, 'fans' are creepy. Past posts from myself and other Brits here, more than amply demondstrate that we do no court-favour
2. Should anyone post about the British in ways as you suggested above, I suspect strongly, that we would treat such accusations/observations, simply as nonsence spoken by the foolish or ill-informed and dismiss the out of hand.
3. Further to 2. above, we invented Satire for just such situations as you offer up. That seems to work very well as a tool for dealing with idiotic critisisms
4. "Sitting back and taking it". I have argued this point with you the last time you used it to defend your tit-for-tat slanging matches with your opponents. That seems to have failed completely. Refer to points 1. 2. and 3. above and consider the History of Great Britain. We do not sit back and take anything. We also don't sit back and watch what happens to the other guys, before we pick a side and get stuck in. We don't however, even get out of bed to defend against such luke-warm, poorly thought out and fanciful diatribe, such as you suggest. When 'attacks' or accusations are levied against politicians however, we tend leave it to the politicians to defend themselves. You have a tendency to appear as though you wear the shiny shiny armour of a Proud Knight, staunchly defending his Liege with a blind faith not seen since the Round Table of King Arthur.
5. "Unfair and untrue attacks". Firstly, try to see beyond the mere words of an opponents arguement once in a while and see them like you see yourself. Stop treating every opposing view as an attack. As for untrue, well says who, your 'guy' who is just as bad as the other?
As I see it (and have tried to demonstrate to you before), the people/party you defend, are just as self-serving, manipulitive and corrupt as those 'attacking' them. Remove the hurt feelings from the table Jim and argue for the greater good, from a slightly more clinical and less emotional view-point. Screw the guy you happen to like just because he did or did not win a Purple Heart (as the case may be and as suits your flavour). Investigate your own representitives and hold them to higher standards before taking the easy route by simply going after the other guy. Stones and Glass Houses comes to mind and there is after-all, a very good reason that Cliche's are Cliche's.

Although a massive generalisation, until they stand up and agree to be audited annually, I suspect them all.

I'll take that as a compliment my good man.
