Well, screw that!

welcome to the "real" world...
we in the Netherlands have such system also for some years, before that we had the BPM which was on all cars about 42% on top (so besides the 21% btw tax)
but that full system of BPM (42%) was going down over the years to get the Co2 tax instead...so a V8 or other gas guzzler pays Twice...
and at the pump (because they use more and the taxes on fuel) and Co2 tax...

but some can come around that a bit, say hybrides, also big V8 hybrides like say the new 918 spyder (porsche) gets a big discount because of the hybrid system (smart)
and full EV cars don't have to pay any (in the Netherlands)

the UK and Belgium and Germany were reall car countries, they all payed 42% less than we did, but I guess times are changing...

my future car will be or a very light car or light and from before 1987 ( no roadtax :D) and I love some older sports cars.

like say a GT40 (replica) on older plates say years before 1987 or say Porsche 904 rep mostly also years 60 plates :D

we have to adapt a bit when your not to wealthy I guess.
