It was announced in the press today that Queenslanders will face much tougher driving tests to obtain their driving licence.
Among the new reforms are that they will have to show an ability to handle a car at high speed and in difficult situations.
They also must show a competence to merge into high speed traffic.
Of course the proof will be in the pudding, but anything must be better than today's tests where all one has to do is answer some easy alternate choice questions (an interpreter will be supplied if you don't have English). I've never agreed with that how do you read traffic signs with no English?
Drive around the block without running over anyone especially bicycle riders and being able to reverse park.
A positive step methinks.
