Rep Power: 7 | How to check your 917! Folks,
just in case you happen to own a 917 or buy one of Fran`s stunning replicas, you better make sure this missile is always in perfect order for duty...
As we all know, the Gulf-Wyer Team always had a reputation for meticulously preparing the cars for the races.
Here`s the checklist of the Wyer team. Hope it comes out O.K.
Best,
Marcus |

Rep Power: 9 | Re: How to check your 917! Marcus,
Thats an excellent posting. Those of us that already race cars know all too well just how much preparation and checking has to be done on the cars.
I know that i have to check over my 917 with a lot more detail than the 40 because of its much lighter and delicate nature. Anyone who contemplates serious competition must never take anything for granted for the stresses and strains in competition can be the equivalent of years of "normal" road use.
Although that is a comprehensive check list readers might like to know that the cars were stripped right down to their chassis between races and rebuilt, with ongoing development, thus giving them such a wonderful racing reliability.
Few realise what goes on behind the cars being on the track..... and the costs.
