The Legate book says that Harry Yeaggy bought 1076 in 1997.
A quick bit of Googling shows that he still owned it in 2003 when it won first place in its class at Pebble Beach, and then Best in Show at Eyes on Design in Detroit the following year.
He also owns the 1935 Duesenberg Mormon Meteor.

In 1971 or 1972 #1076 was on display at an import car dealer in Tampa, Florida. Dave Heinz Imports was the dealer. A local collector named David Brown was the owner at the time. He owned several GT-40's including an open top. I was just a kid at the time and I used to ride my bike down there to stare at the GT-40. I was just recently able to track down the serial number as being 1076 and confirm that it was the car in the window. I haven't been able to find out who David Brown was but I'm still working on it. Please let me know if anyone has any info on him.
