It would have taken a winch to pull the seat cushion out of my posterior!!!
Car does sound sweet!!! Glad you are okay!!

It's like Mario Andretti says: "If everything seems under control, then you're not going fast enough".....

Good to see she had the runoff room, and great to hear you're OK.

I was holding my breath as the tyre wall was coming up and thinking "No not that beautiful alloy body" but you dodged a big there my friend.

Cheers Leon

Thanks guys,yes it was close.
As I was going in I was running numbers in my head, speed distance wall, funny what you do.

Yes Pete ,I was 3 laps into it and the tires where not ready.
I wasn't doing anything I wouldn't normally do in that corner, I needed to be more patient.

Funny thing I won a trophy for it, THE GREAT ESCAPE.
Its a good trophy to ,its metal and has a marble base.

Well deserved too Jim, given what I saw on the vid! As said above....just glad neither you or "my favorite 40" were hurt.

What amazed me was how balanced the car appeared to be.

Always when I have had "an off" the car has spun and then gone backwards with the front really sticking / not continuing the rotation

Even in the GT40 it tends to be an "about face" and then clench!

So how do you get a car to be more balanced so both ends move the same?

Ian

I found roll centres played a huge part in the balance Ian.
You get that right then tune from there.

The car is natural and when you get on the power it just sits on the back outside tyre.

Dosnt help when you have cold tyres though.

Jim

nice save mr Cowden much bigger balls than me
puts my spin to shame is there more vid to see of
the 40 and what is the series that your running in
chris

Hi Cris

No that was all of it.
The series is called Nulon Nationals.

Its an open event 4 events over 12 months.
skid pad
hill climb
circuit
drag strip.

Its a team event (Ford team)6 members.
Fastest is the winner so we are never going to win against the time attack cars but who cares its good fun.
