How's that going Jac. I heard they had transmission troubles on its first outing.

Better. The first trans problem was apparently due to some shaft clearances etc from mods to shorten main shaft for use with QC gears. Still some gear selector issues, think I might have a solution for them, but need to visit or get some further pics.

No, Graeme, the builder, passed away ~14 month's ago. Spent quite a bit of time picking over whats left of my grey matter prior to build, initially was thinking along Mclaren lines, but having a roof is quite desirable around these parts. Enlarge the build pic, most answers are there if you are conversant with 60/70's era.

Jim, no it predates Leons efforts by a couple of years, and as mentioned scratch built.

Brian, no its not a T44R, but he did see what I was up to early on.

Randy, Cleveland block as well & dry sumped. IIRC the block has lineage back to ~1972 and the NZ Saloon car championship.... not sure how many grandfathers axes involved though. Heck, just realised mention of a cleveland might give Doug the energy to climb out of the paddock for a couple of minutes!

Photo of the car in thread along with Grant Aitkens SPF MKII & Ant Leighs ERA. Interesting to see difference in front wheel arch profiles between MKI & MKII. Photo taken outside Highland Park Circuit garage area.
