The Batmobile doesn't use a transaxle...does it?

If you have a G50 in 1st gear with the tail/shift shaft all the way rearwards , the GT box is actually shorter...BUT...it is massive from tip to stern ..it weighs in at close to 200lbs ...so 40lbs heavier but the perfromance is not in question.
6 SPEED....double and triple syncros...cable shift...and its the only big HP midengine transaxle that has gone through OEM testing in recent years in volume...
I have to have a minumum order of 4 to get a price break but currently have seven on order for Superlite Coupe customers ...so in reality they are not as expensive as you may first think |
Seems like you were talking transaxles here. Probably should have quoted this and maybe one of the following replies about the G50 trans. Didn't know quotes were all that necessary. I also didn't mean to drift the conversation. |

You gonna use a gas turbine to power the beast as well? There are a few options there as far as drivetrain, and the coolest part is they'll run on just about any flammable liquid from ethanol to diesel to propane. Talk about an eco-friendly monstrosity!! I know Marine Turbine Technologies used a GM 700R4 in their turbine truck ( MTT - Retrorocket, the Turbine powered Chevy S-10 Pick-up) and it's got all the creature comforts like power steering, cruise, a/c. Haha You could just go direct drive though with some sort of torque converter to allow it to freespin while at a stand still. I dunno, just off the wall suggestions. |

Based on what you've said in the past.... I would have thought that it would run on sheeppoop methane.... Then you'd have a legit excuse to keep the sheep around. I just don't know how you would explain the velcro gloves though.
Keep up the good work! |

Turning back to cars for a moment, eccentric guys here run their vehicles on used frying oil from fish & chip shops. Not much modification needed to a normal petrol engine, they claim.
But Fran, your lovely cars need the sound of a zillion horsepower from a highly tuned engine, not an old banger.

| Re: RCR's Next car should be..... Bangers dont go well with Lamb, much better with Mash....
In all seriousness...we are very well into the two electric cars and I am waiting for my diesel/biodiesel drivetrain to arrive also.....
I think with the specialised approach that people have to the kit car industry ...some off beat thinking and marketing will help our/industries longevity...
I love a big banger but I do get some strange requests especially for the Roadster...one thing is for sure though..... its never boring..

Would like to see the LeMans "Prototype" version, much more svelte without the "boy racer" wings and fins.... Much nicer for a street car...
You could do it Fran, Go for it... |

I have a 908 body which is getting a tube chassis but have spoken to Fran about doing a semi mono version like his 917.
Any way after SEMA I spotted just the thing for you power hungry two seat sports car fanatics
