Re: RCR's Next car should be.....

Forgot to mention it wouldn't be transverse but would move the motor forward enough to fit the body shape.

Understandably, the car displayed at SEMA was the mock-up. I imagine having the one (if there is even one) and only functional version out in the open all night outside would be a risk no one wanted to take.

Re: RCR's Next car should be.....

Ok. I brought this up 8 or so months ago (one page before), but I really think Fran could build an amazing front engine rear drive open top car with the SLC design language. If there’s anyone halfway decent with photoshop, I think it would be neat to see what a front engine SLC would look like. It would be like a modern day Lister or Cobra, but with Fran’s engineering (proven laptime record holder).

This is the Sterling Moss SLR. I think a “Fran’s SLC design” would look much better than this.

And I think at that point I chimed in and agreed. Something with the sole of a Cobra/Viper (i.e. An AMERICAN car).

On the plus side, it could be more straight forward (front engine, so something like a trashed Camaro could be a relatively cheap donor for the complete drive train). That would make the all-in cost lower for those looking for that.

Leave enough space for a Viper V10.

You could even delete the doors to make it lower cost/easier to build!

That smells a bit fishy .. the AC Cobra was a British car with an American engine.

It's been a while since I said it, so either (I know Fran doesn't like either ):
- Porsche 904
- McLaren F1 layout car (not a replica)

Porsche 906, hands down. Simple, lightweight, and could be powered by almost any 911 motor.
