SLC interiors

Gentlemen,

Thank you for considering my potentially repetitive question.

I am looking for cost details and possibly photos on an interior fit and finish that will compare to other supercar's. The ideal state would be if someone had an interior package with various quality levels of fit and finish.

Ed

RCR has a great set of finish panels available that make the job of creating a superb interior much easier. He used some of them in the Rapier interiors, which generally are thought to be some of the nicest interiors in an SLC so far.

Call Fran to get the details.

Rapier with the standard panels supplied from RCR. Super nice.

Allan's car with RCR panels and FFR GTM seats I believe. I'd love to see more interior shots of this car...hint-hint.

Craig Killinham with the standard panels supplied from RCR, regardless of what he says (first photo was of his car upon delivery before the redo). Looks very over-the-top supercar and I like it. The instrument cluster and switches/gauges are his own bespoke parts though afaik and not my taste.

J.Salmon's car with a spartan interior...a track car. All business and looks good.

Tim's car with RCR paneling and Tillet seats (same ones I have :)). The carbon is not real (except for the seats which are real). The paneling is that dipped/printed or whatever fakeness stuff. Looks good in the photos to me though.

Nice post Dave....thanks

This is one of my favorites...leather, carbon, Alcantara and black anodised aluminum trim with stainless counter sunk screws...another
interior we did at RCR using all stock interior panels as a base....

WOW!!!

Fran, are the interior pics that you're posting from the 2010 SEMA car? I loved that car!

Edit: Thanks a lot(!) Dave for posting all of that eye candy. I'm extremely impressed with the interiors, whether they're ready completed in simple race ready trim or full up super car trim.

Like I said before, WOW!

You humble my poket book with extrodinary images thank you!

I wish to estimate what someone might estimate the cost could be for one of the more finished versions. Is this an additional 30k?

Cup-holders?? We don't need no pesky cup-holders :)
Seriously, the great chassis, engineering, and bodywork is let down (in a street super-car) if the interior isn't great. So many "kit cars" (horrible expression) have a crap interior that doesn't work, with a flat slab of polished plywood with the dashboard instruments (Lotus used to do this). Spoilt all the other work. Those RCR interiors are hectic.

I did my interior myself with a combination of Alsa soft feel paint, Metro Styling Carbon Fiber wrap, yes GTM seats and some carpet. With the seats, supplies, stereo, switches and speakers it cost me $1100 beyond the kit cost.

Here's some more pictures:

That looks fabulous

30k more than a deluxe plus kit?...for a finished car?..built by you or by a pro builder or by RCR?

Im using wild guess to establish what a pro interior guy to do what Rapier did for an all leather interior with heated seats and all the standard modern luxury bits.

i know it would get dear, as i envision a good bit of billet

Thanks! that looks great, you have satisfied my primary concern of the unknown. If i assume not to do the work, It could come in around 5k

Has Mr. Killinham mentioned what he has spent on interior? does he participate here?

Hello Allen,
We met at the championship NASA race in Ohio. I did admire your car & Dans SL-C. I was wondering about the ALSA covering/paint you use on the dash. I went to their website and they mentioned that you need to force the drying of the product. Did you go to a dealer for the coating or do it all at home?
Thanks,
Joe Vask

He did paint the dash himself. I also remember him saying that he simply put the dash out in the sun to "cure".

Fran,
I keep seeing a shifter from a porsche specialist in many of these interior shots. Are you re-selling them or is that your own design? (I have one of the older shifters and am thinking of upgrading) As I recall that shifter was around 1K or so...........? (I assume it shifts a llittle better and is easier to adjust?) Cables look the same.... Pm if you like, Scott
