RCR Porsche 917

That's silly - if you give somebody your ~race~ car to take out onto a ~race~ track without any type of insurance/contract/etc.. in place, you should be SOL.
The claim looks to be that there was a verbal contract in place, including a rev limit.

Poor engine :(

Alex, when do you get your 917?

What engine are you using? (Other than the right engine....)

Might want to change out the computer fan downdraft for a larger fan when the flat six is in there.......

Absolutely beautiful 917, very impressive. The new owner is going to love it.

Twin plug HO 3.8? turbo'd?

Super cool.

A lovely body...but a devilish engine. The 917 books I read are filled with missed shifts and blown engines....Piper should have installed a rev limiter.

I'll never forget an article I read in a 1970 magazine about them test driving an L88 Vette.
They missed a shift and threw a rod out the side of the block.
The writer blamed the shift linkage.
Chevy disagreed and sent the magazine an invoice for a new short block.
