Motor Mounts

Hey,

Can anyone tell me the source for the RF motor mounts (SB 302 Ford)? I have looked high and low through all my remaining pieces and I don't have them. My shipping list from RF doesn't show them either, although I don't know if they were to be included in the kit or not. If they are something common I am sure I can find them here in the states. Thanks,

Ron

Re: Motor Mounts

Ron-

I've found mine, but there are no part numbers from anyone on them. If you need, I can sit down with a parts catalog and see if I can match them up visually.

Let me know,

Pat Barry

Re: Motor Mounts

Pat,

You got a digital camera that you could use to shoot a pic and email me? Maybe it'd job my memory and I'd recognize them. But, so far I'm not turning anything up.

Re: Motor Mounts

Ron
The engine mounts are stock standard 302. I bought mine from a local Auto Parts Supplier and I just asked for 302 engine mounts. Theyr'e a pretty solid thing and I found a picture in HP books Ford Windsor Small block performance by Issac Martin, when I was researching.Short bolts fix mount to block and long bolt goes through engine mount and RF chassis. Are you guys getting snow in America at the moment? I had to rush home from work today as a bush fire broke out near the house. 35 degrees c today, a bit hot.

Re: Motor Mounts

Snow? Just the ordinary stuff, 5 or 6 storms to date, maybe 50 inches of snow or so, still some drifts to 4 feet deep on the roof. Should see pavement again in March. Temps this week in the single digits(F).

Re: Motor Mounts

Is it normal for the mounts to be a bit lower at the front than the rear. I am having a of trouble getting the bolts to go all the way through the stirrup. If the holes at the rear side of the stirrup line up the front side of the stirrup is a little low. It makes it look as though the front of the engine is too low, however the sump is flush with the bottom of the car so the height looks right.

I have removed the rear mount to lower the gearbox as far as I can.

May be I just need a to push a bit harder.

Regards

John

Re: Motor Mounts

John,

Release the bolts that go into the engine so that the mounts are free to float. This will allow the mounts to line up and then all the bolts can be tightened.

Please phone me if you have any problems.

Best wishes,

Robert
