According to the chart I found a G96/96 would/should have a 0.85 6th, Assuming the ratios interchange you would have 0.82 & 0.75 6th gear options. Your current 6th with 3.44/1 R&P will give 2.92/1...

Depends on your ability as an engine builder, 8400 while getting up there is not out of reach for a well built 289 with todays tech. Notice that all of the engine options are relatively short stroke....

From pics it looks like the flat plane has just as much counterweight as the cross plane version, just distributed evenly along length of crank. Looks like an SLC in promos.

Other than the Roof/Spider not really any larger 'panels' like that Scott, but many smaller parts that require hammer forms etc- if you have made formers for wing ribs and then made ribs from them...

The inlet valve throat dia & mods are more critical than the inlet head dia, in fact simply fitting large inlet valves on a 4" bore engine can result in degraded flow due to masking effect of valve...

If its non - inverted & in your SLC then you must have flipped the Ring of the R&P to have correct direction in which case the lube getting thrown off R&P is likely to aim at that fitting... I assume...
