The latest 2018 series (that finished on BBC1 a few weeks ago) was season 6, so a lot has gone on in previous five seasons.

Yes it's a Bryan (not Brian) Wingfield recreation.
Bryan also built up the three cars that the Willment family had reserved the chassis numbers for. GT40P/1087, GT40P/1088 & GT40P/1089

I read somewhere a long time ago that the 'cut' door on the Mk2b was to give a better chance of escaping if a car had overturned onto its roof.

FYI, The car at NEC was indeed the 'show car', note no aerials on the roof.
We were lucky enough to have it at work at a meet the drivers event earlier this year.

The first KVA was resprayed black the last time I saw it.
I think it was a 1.6 (XR3 carburettor) engine but with a turbo.
