I use oil that is slippery, typically carmel colored.

In 15 years of racing I've never had a failure related to brand of oil. I have had various failures related to lack of oil though, so one...

Re: Is gt40's important to you - let us know your thoughts

Maybe it's time to rethink how you view the forum as a resource. The SPF subforum doesn't have any factory support, it's just a subcollection of threads that are about SPF which are not organized at...

Re: possibly the sickest engine/tran package for an SLC ??

Ah, that makes more sense. John was talking about a standard LS while I was specifically talking about DOHC V8s, which the LS isn't unless it has the Mercrusier package on it.

Re: possibly the sickest engine/tran package for an SLC ??

The DOHC four valve Mercury LS engine is $8k cheaper than the Ford Crate motor? That's a pretty good deal. I didn't realize it was that inexpensive.

Re: possibly the sickest engine/tran package for an SLC ??

No offense to the LS crowd cause that's an awesome engine, but if I wanted a domestic DOHC V8 I think I'd go with the Ford series. Their crate Aluminator is 580 naturally aspirated horsepower.
