You need a cable suitable for something like a Scania lorry. They are lined with heat resistant material that stays slippery even when subjected to extreme heat.

When I get round to starting the rebuild I'd like to replace the rear drums with discs (just Granada/Scorpio items)
I remember when I had my last GTD, the rear uprights were different on the disc...

The car was built in the 1980's and, as was he norm at that time, registered with a Ford logbook....

Interesting. I'm under the impression my chassis was an early one, poss 1985 maybe even 1984 (were GTD going then?)
I know my chassis has an almost identical format to a GTD I used to...

Sadly the seller was "economical with the truth"
No race history. The car has a roll cage fitted and has a removable steering wheel fitted but there's no evidence of any Racing apart from "sponsored...

Sadly no "spare race spec webbers" but all there. Mose of the "spares" are junk. Set of 302 heads that are only useful as boat anchors!

Blimey, I shot that footage (and the report) for CNBC Europe in about 1996-7 time. If it is the same car it was the first of three assembled from the the "spare" tubs left over from GT40 production...
