Here is the compound curve and some views of stamped parts....to do it right requires huge investment in dies for all the parts. Some parts can be fabricated 'by hand' with panel beaters tools etc...

Its the same gearbox, nothing wrong with it, in fact very happy. I was just trying to find out about the history of the box.... I haven't seen any type plates on any -0's and when the upload picture...

"the numbers for the ratios stamped in the housing are fitting to
the very first series parts list ZF made for the GT 40.
Parts list number is 1031.001.001 and this was delivered
17...

zf-0 type plate

Does the ZF-0 come with a type plate? I have seen them on the zf -1 and -2 boxes but not on a -0.

Mine dosent have one ( zf-0) and this plate is supposed to have a 10 digit serial number starting...

Section G - 3, page 23.... 'tighten nuts to a torque of 1.5 - 2.0 kpm'

=14.71 - 19.61 Nm
= 10.8 - 14.5 lbft

ZF rear cover nut torque

After receiving my zf -0, I filled it will oil and every week I spin it for about 2 minutes to ensure the oil is moved around the internals. According to Paul Flemming they can 'rust up' if left dry...

I heard that the drivers were told to immediately pull over if the pressure gauge went to zero. I also heard that some F1 drivers tested the 917 and got out white faced never to be seen in that car...
