Paul-Here is one person's opinion. There is no simple answer. A number of factors come into play. Horsepower and torque, street only or street/some track time, weight, cost, how many miles to be driven per year, personal driving style. I run a 295/50 on the rear of my 40, with a 245/50 front. It provides very good handling in the corners, but not too harsh a ride on the street. There were cheaper tires, but I was interested in a bit more rubber being on the road, plus the look of the slightly larger tire gives the car a more aggressive look. Many factors, depends alot on what you want, the car and what you are going to do with it.
