Flogging the Gurney Weslakes

Well guys, the "engine guy" in Madison has been putting in some late nights with the Gurney heads. In a recent call, he has the exhaust side up over 220cfm, and the intakes at 280 with "a bunch more to go". He expects, at .600 valve lift, to be + or - 300/310 intake and 230 exhaust. Because of the rockershaft design, anything over .600 requires a lot of machine work shimming things upward. I'll pass on that. When they're finished, I'll get the flow data to post so you can compare to "modern" inline and canted valve heads.

Hi, look forward to this. Old records show the superiority of canted valve heads (boss 302 and flow dynamics), but we know, things have developed since, and straight on makes things somewhat easier. Plse keep us posted!
