Rolling Road in the UK

Does anybody have information on a rolling road, preferably London/Oxford area. Currently overhauling the IDA carbs and need to set up as well. Thank you in anticipation!!

I recently heard there is an excellent facility in Abingdon near Oxford but I have no more address details.

Unusually, they have a fan which can generate 100+ mph wind speed which is very important if you don't want to be stopping your motor every few minutes to allow it to cool down.

Please post an address and comments if you use it.

Rectory Lane Trading Est.,Kingston Bagpuize, near Abingdon 0X13 5AS TEL 01865 821062. Classification: Precision Engineers. I'll call them tomorrow and let you know if its the one you alluded to.

Chris,
Thats the one. They are not interested in Carb setups and only specialise in Injected engines. They will, however, run it with their man in the car provided you or your nominated person works on the carbs. It does have a 1.5m fan which gives approximately 60mph air cooling. Costs are approx. £65 per hour+tax.It's booked up solid until March.

Three I know of. One is in Hartley Whitney, Hants but not sure if that has capacity for our big power engines. Normally deals with more vintage stuff like old Lagonda's. However they are Webber specialists. The other is in Gillingham Dorset, Sigma Engineering. They specialise in Holley stuff. They did my car about 7 years ago and did a great job. Then Peter Knight has a dyno. He knows his engines but I am not sure if he has rolling road as well.

Thank you for the info. The one in Hartley Whitney sound interesting if, as you say, he specializes in webers. The one near Abingdon would mean we have to take jets etc with us as they only do injection.
Any numbers or names appreciated.

The company you are thinking of in Hartley Witney is Phoegree Engineering (Phoenix Green) but I believe they are no longer Weber agents. I don't have their telephone number.

I can't guarantee these details haven't changed as I used them quite a few years ago now. I found them good value for money.

I dropped into Phoenix Green to see the guys there as I was passing there the other day. However they were closed for lunch or something. Anyway there is a rolling road there as you could see it through the window. They did have Webber Agents signage but this could be out of date. Can't find their number in the book but will try and drop in there again when I am next passing to try and catch them at work.
