Tremic gearboxes?

While researching transmissions, someone suggested Tremic for mating with the Ford 302 or 351W.

According to this, the gearbox can be used in a mid-engine application.

Any knowledge/opinions?

I have a Tremec in my Cobra replica. Good gearbox. They are simply replacements for toploaders in rear wheel drive front engined cars.

I think you may have been misled by their statement that their boxes could be shifted from a front, middle, or rear position. Different from the application of a box to a mid engined, rear wheel drive car.

Hehehe you know what...that was exactly what confused me...AND that the yahoo at the motor shop I was corresponding with didn't seem to understand what mid-engine WAS.
