Sway bar lock rings??

Mike,

I have two piece nylon blocks, notched and clamped around the rear sway bar. It hasn't budged under some pretty intense driving! These blocks will wear, and need replacement eventually, but they are not expensive. Let me know if you would like me to e-mail you photos.

Bill,

Would like the pics. Where did you get the lockers? Make them?

thanks,

The problem is getting the ring round the bend in the bar.
I made a ring with about a 1/4" wall to fit the bar. I then cut it in half and made an outer ring with about a 1/8" wall and a bore to go over the first ring. The outer ring has an end on it with a hole big enough to go round the bend in the bar. The outer ring goes on first then you insert the two halves of the smaller ring.the whole lot is held together with a grub screw through the outer ring.
Hope that all make sense to you!

Brian.

Guys,

Do those folks using sway bars use lonck rings around the mounts to prevent the bars from moving side to side?

How are they made?

thanks,

Bearing distributors and McMaster Carrhave shaft collars in various permutations of steel, aluminum and plastic. The one-piece split clamp-on will probably go around the bar's corners.

Some choices.

You'll have to start at their home page to actually find your exact piece.
