Springs and shock absorbers.

I am unsure of the heritage of the shock absorbers and springs on this car and would appreciate any input on what to replace them with. They still appear virtually as new, but they are the basic Spax type. I know that I can pay a kings ransom for these items but anybody with a GTD that has changed theirs along with the springs, I would be grateful for your knowledge.

I had Spax shock absorbers and standard springs on my GTD when I bought it. I subsequently changed the shock absorbers to Koni (externally adjustable, both bump and rebound) and replaced the springs with Eibach two-part progressive springs.

These changes, along with some other modifications, have made a significant improvement to the cars handling and driveability on the road, which is now "Porsche-like".

That's the good news. The bad news is - these parts do not come cheap.

Has anyone experimented with air ride shocks?
I would like to find if this is possible
