Wheels/Rims

I would strongly advise against outfitting an automobile with carbon fiber rims, for several reasons.

CF tends to fail spectacularly and without any warning.

The only motorsports applications of CF wheels that I am aware of are in motorcycle racing. I believe the motorcycle guys replace their rims at least every two years.

When you trade forged aluminum wheels for carbon fire you're giving up huge amounts of potential impact energy absorption.

Why not go for a cast magnesium wheel. I am ordering a set from the USA. They have a magnesium centre and ali rim, BRM style.

You simply cannot expect carbon to last. Durability is a major issue. Although carbon is bloody strong it is very poor when it comes to impact damage.
