Exhausts

Looking at most of the pictures of the 40's that show up on the forum there doesn't appear to be any attempt to make the primary tubes of equal length. Does this have any effect on performance?
Thanks

Hi There -

From what I recall of exhaust systems - yes, it can make a difference and ideally they should all be of similar length. Roy Smart as I recall had a system made where the max spread of length varies by no more than 2" (shortest to longest).

Can be a problem avoiding the upper trailing arms though.
