Launch Control / Clutch

There has been a concern about using launch control, 5,000 rpm launches and burning up the clutch. I can see this being an issue with a low torque motor. However, a high torque motor like a stroked 351 to 392 with really flat tq curve (500 lbs-ft down low) and a 2000-2500 launch rpm would negate this concern... no?

Perhaps this should be moved to the engine forum...
