I e-mailed the seller to ask what gear ratio it is. The reply says it is an AAZ with a 18087 date code.

I did the same , I bet a bunch from this board asked for the codes .Too bad we were all disapointed /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif , otherwise there might have been good spirited bidding,,lol - Dan

Sorry guys. I have a search set up in eBay for the Audi and Eagle Medallion transaxles and this was the first reasonable one I had seen in weeks. Somebody mentioned the one a few weeks back that was there for around $2500.

The price new is good though, I'll bid on it. AAZ is not great but it is a working one that is new. As I've found, you can easily spend $500 to get a used on rebuilt.

The AAZ has the 3.89 ring & pinion, which can be used in a 5N for better gearing.
