ford SHO V8 in a gt40

Has anyone thought of using a Ford SHO v8 in a 40.
Lighter than a 302, higher rpm, less torque ? Would it fit?
I have access to one.New in the crate.

I have, just the other day when I ran across a SHO V8 in the yard (junkyard that is)!!! Might be good but you'd have a heck of a time adapting it to a transmission, that is, you'd have to make your own adapter plate. Good little motor, but it is little (in displacement) and if you've looked it closely it is actually a little larger than a SB Ford. Light though.

The SHO V8s were only mated to automatic transmissions, so you would need a custom adapter plate. The V8s were also know for grenading valvetrain gear on a regular basis - particularly cam sprockets.

You would be much better off with a SBF.

HAS ANYONE USED A SHO YAMAHA V6 DOHC ???
THATS WHAT I PLAN ON USING WITH A PORSCHE 914 TRANSAXLE
ANY SUGESTIONS OR COMMENTS
