More Titanium for A11GTD -

Hi all

Not content with using it in his engine, club Chairman Roy Smart has just had his left knee replaced, with a titanium item to match the one in his right leg.

I'm sure we all wish him a speedy recovery and no doubt he will be putting it to good use later this season.

Question is, which is lighter? titanium or bone? - perhaps Mike can shed some light on whether Roy's latest 'weight modifications' will be in or against his favour. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's unlikely to be titanium, as it leeches out into the tissues and can set up troublesome reactions. Almost certainly a cobalt chrome compound, with a nylon-like plastic bearing insert. A significant net weight increase!
Best wishes to Roy for a speedy recovery.

So cruel Mike.. you know better than to tell Roy it'll be heavier /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif..he'll just go get his power drill out and start drilling lightening holes into it now!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif We could end up being able to strain tea-leaves through his knees!!

Fast recovery? Probably more like "bloody fast" knowing Roy!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Best Regards,

J.P

Hi Roy Hope you are recovering well, was your op private titanium or n.h.s titanium as i could use some lightning mods also and the cheaper the better.
cheers Dave /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
