For that money Ron, you throw the auto off the trailer on your way home with it and convert back to manual.... $20000AUD works out to a little over $15,000 USD or 8000 GBP.

Some people are paying that for gearboxes.....

Looked at bidding history. Wow, that RF GT40 really seems to attract bidders with 0 feedback, actually only bidders with 0 feedback. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif And 2 of the bidders only registered yesterday... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Still 5 days to go...interesting times ahead...

Auction has finished, reached $35,300.00 , reserve not met.

If the buyers are genuine, then expect there might be some negotiating going on. Or seller is going to try somewhere else like Unique Cars mag...if not already. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The buyer wants about $45-48,000, to bad it can't be registered in NSW and i have to replace the tranny.

With that AU engine it can still be registered in QLD, but it would be a squeeze once it hits the 5 year old mark. Pretty sure AU Falcons ran from 1998-2002. If you haven't already contacted an engineer in VIC, then I think you are stuffed there as well.

Rumour has it that mid this year QLD will be same rules as NSW. Who knows???

Had so much trouble registering the last Cobra up here, was glad to be able to buy an approved/registered GT40, having fun with the rebuild. It is very different to building from scratch...
