Rear wheel spacers ?

I have all my new hi-spec brakes fitted (4 pot front, sierra coswort big disc conversion at the rear)
Just went to fit my wheels when I noticed that the rear wheels foul the calipers?
I'm sure this is easily overcome with some longer wheel studs and spacers (it's about 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch, I haven't measured if accuratly yet) but are these safe?
I don't know too much about spacers so any advice appreciated.
Thanks

Simon

Hi Simon,
When you oredred your calipers & disc conversion from Hi-spec did you let them have the upright & wheel? They usually ask for this to gauge the correct offset for the caliper, that's assuming you have seperate discs & bells.
Try Demon Tweeks, I believe they can supply.
If you have problems getting the spacers you require let me know & I'm sure we could make some for you.

Simon, I think 1/2 to 3/4 is a bit much for longer studs, there is a safety issue there and agree with Faili that adapters would be the way to go. I've got 3mm spacers on mine that stops the tyre wall from touching the trailing arms, but I decided that 6mm was as far as I would be prepared to go with spacers.
