He was driving west on 16th past the Brickyard Crossing and the circuit entrance about 3pm. I was standing on the roadside and chatting to a Harley mounted police man waving a laser speed gun at oncoming traffic. We talked for about 15 minutes and he became so distracted about his purpose for being there that I guess I saved about 20 or so cars from getting tickets. When the 40 went by he made a very complimentary remark and started giving me some history about these cars - all of which was on the nail and he was also taking an interest in Le Mans over the weekend as well and even told me about Danish guy bidding for his 7th win.
Very informed for a plod. The 40 was being driven very sedately I would add. Did it belong to any of guys on the web site?
