Revenue collecting in UK

If you are driving in South Yorkshire it may pay you to watch your speed around the Sheffield area, the local Revenue Collecting Service (formally known as the South Yorkshire Police Force)are using two new types of speed camera oops! sorry! SAFETY camera.
The first is attached to the extending pole on the top of a Range Rover, said Range rover parks on a road below a motorway flyover or a dual carriageway road bridge extends pole to just over the guard rail on road above, Gotcha!
The second is a wireless laser camera on a short tripod, patrol car parks around corner. Gotcha!
It's interesting to note that just about every Police force in the UK posts the location of fixed camera's, and the times and location of mobile camera's, on their Web sites, all that is except South Yorkshire /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Dave,

The police here don't post the location of speed traps, but they do post the locations of DWI (driving while intoxicated) checkpoints. That must make sense to the police, but it sure doesn't make much sense to me!
Perhaps it's a warning for drunken policemen??? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
