I did a search for this, expecting to find the answer, but couldn't get any relevant info.
I have a renault 21 turbo gearbox should I use EP90 in it?
Thank you

I have redline MT90 in mine. The reline chart calls for MTL which is 70-80W. My thinking is that the Renault's orginal power output was much less than my SBF and therefor the heat generated would be much higher. So I went up on viscosity and used the MT90 90W gearoil.

Otherwise the two types, MTL and MT90, are pretty much the same stuff.

Red line products are very good and I don't think you will go wrong with their gearoil.

John,

I have a Renault UN1 transaxle for my GT40 and I was advised to use 'CASTROL TRANSAXLE FLUID TAF-X 1862'. It costs about 5 GB Pounds per 1/2 litre.

Hi John, if you go with either of the above recommendations you`ll be fine, both are fully synthetic 75W/90 and any `quality` brand oil of this spec` will work (FS75W/90). Just avoid the temptation of `anti shock` oils or adatives, at best they will slow your gear change as they don`t clear most synchromesh systems properly and at worst oil starve and cause damage.
