For you guys who do your own painting and metal work(steel), I came across a thread on the Hotrodders Bulletinboard on metal prep and how to treat rust prior to painting. Particularly micro rust. It can be seen Here. Some good info.
I would not use acid after sandblasting the steel. The one guy has it right, put epoxy on direct to blast. A good blast should remove all rust. All the other stuff is hype and marketing (one and the same).
