Ok. How about this for a Transaxle idea??

How many of you have thought about using Porsches 'TipTronic' gearboxes in your cars??
I see they are somewhat plentiful and at the right prices.

How about this?? Convert it to a manual clutch - toss out the torque converter and put a normal flywheel and pressure plate in. Then build yourself some paddle shifters for the steering and you're away!

Whats the peoples ideas??

I think the basic problem remains...you can't invert the trans (easily).
The fluid pickup and valve body would be wrong side up.

I had a Boxster Tiptronic gearbox unit for a while, was thinking along the same lines, no inversion problems good for about 300BHP, paddle gearchange, but the electronics looked like they would be a problem.
