Shifter mechanism

I was wonder what would people recommend as a cabin shifter mechanism I could use for a project - would have to be 6 speed and be compatible with the Audi 01E transaxles. Recommendations for donor vehicles (apart from the obvious Audi....)

I got a shifter from Brandwood cars and it works very well. They sell kits for porsche and VW gearboxes but you can buy it from them without the gearbox mounts as I used it for a Renault UN1. It is pricey but it is a nice unit that can be easily mounted on any chassis rail. check them out at

The Brandwood Cars shifter I think is what RCR is using and it is a nice piece. Just got one out of the Lola an hour or so ago and had a look. Not cheap, but seems to be very well made. I can't vouch for use though since I've done nothing but look at it, but it appears to be pretty solid.

I have been developing a shifter for some time.
The prototype is on www.mentalperformance.com.au

It is currently being tested on an Audi transmission.
And on a g50 Trans.
It is a side mount.
Its stainless 316
It is only 40mm wide.
Its not cheap but it is a nice piece of gear.

The results are excellent.
Apparently the tester can’t stop smiling.
If you are interested pm me as I cant PM you.
