G'day everyone

My name's Danny and I live in Melbourne, Australia. I drive a petrol tanker and have driven trucks for the last sixteen years. I've been lurking around for a while and find the forums a great source of information. In the near future I plan to buy an RF 40. Ideally I'd like to have the project started early next year. I currently own a MK II FPV GT-P. It's a great weekend car, however, it doesn't quite have the classic lines of the GT 40.

Like so many here I've been obsessed with these cars for some time, they seem to have an effect on people.

Cheers,

Danny

Hi Danny, welcome to the greatest automobile forum on the WWW featuring the very best looking and performing cars ever built and the friendliest and most knowledgeable members (but perhaps I'm biased). Not so much a method of rapid transportation, more a way of life. In fact a GT40 is not just a matter of life & death, it's far more important than that...

Now then, what's a MKII FPV GT-P when it's at home? Perhaps you could post a pic or a link?

Cheers,

Keith

Hi Danny

welcome to the forum. There are a number of Melbourne people online here, some with GT40's, and some, sadly, like myslef, who don't. Luckily the oes who do are great about sharing theirs (not to drive around obviously, but to look at and talk about, and generally sahre some of the experience). good luck with your RF project. I am watching with great interest to see how the new RF goes.

Keith, check out

The GT-P would fly along.

And very nice it is too Pete

Keith, FPV is an acronym for Ford Performance Vehicles, co-owned by Ford Australia and Prodrive I believe.

The FPV GT and GTP cars are based on the Ford Falcon however they are seriously modified and fitted with a 290kw DOHC 5.4ltr modular V8.

Not many cars that you could compare this with outside of Australia in terms of performance, quality and value, maybe someone else could make a comparison?

Bloody Hell Pete

How many cars do you own? A GT40, an RX8, a GT-P, and maybe you sold it, but didn't I hear you also have(or had) a Ferrari? Does Ricoh need a treasury person specialising in FX risk and money market dealing? I would happily move to Queensland. Itis more than pineapples that seem to grow on trees up there. Ha ha.

Heheh, the RX8 was replaced by the Fcar which is an eight year old 355F1.
Sorry Danny I didn't mean to hijack your thread. Welcome once again.

Hi Pete

Jealousy is a curse, but I am dealing with it. Nice upgrade from the RX8. Danny, i too apologise for taking your thread to places it never intended.

Cheers
