Motec Fuel Injection

Anyone in the New Jersey area or northeast have any experience with Motec systems. Have a project and am looking for info or someone who can map out the fuel curves.
Thanks
Phil

you might try talking with some of the road racing shops in the area like Hudson Historics located in Ossining, NY - they either have the expertise, or know who does in these parts. The guys at Hudson really know their stuff, and are good to work with. Gordon Eggleston runs the place, and I think John Black is his engine management specialist.

Good luck.

Thanks so much
I was a little hesitant about posting that request as it is not related to the site as far as the application, and my expertise is in chassis and suspension. But none of us knows it all. I am dealing with a customer who is also a good friend, and we are trying to sort out his motors for an offshore boat with two Donavan 496 cu in. Twin turbo, intercooled setups. Serious horsepower there (He figures about 1400 HP each at 45-50 lbs. boost). Seems awfully radical to me, and I am not sure of the longevity, but as they say its racin'. I will check out the lead and go from there as that doesen't seem to awfully far to get the right stuff.
Cheers

Phil,

have to admit that I jumped into the part where it said twin turbo - 1400 hp and thought to myself, "he wants to put that in a GT40?" ; ^ )

Anyway, the guys at Hudson Historics can probably get you started in the right direction. They're at 914 941-8559.

Phil, since it's a boat project, you may want to check out MoTeC's marine specialists. There's one in Arizona (???), one in Mississippi, one in NY, and as luck would have it, one in NJ. Here's a link to their USA dealer page:

Can't vouch for any of these guys, but I happened to be looking for a MoTeC tuner too, when I saw your post.

Thank you both for the info...sorry if I caused a stir. This is a little out of my expertise also, I have made some special parts for this customer. mostly centered around hydraulic mountings for steering and brackets and the like, all stainless of course. I was offered a ride, but I think I'll pass..160 + mph on water is not my thing, but if I get some photos of this stuff I might post it just for any interested parties, thats as close as I will get to a ride. According to my customer these motors were built by Mc Laren, and from the description he gave it sounds like a plumbers nightmare with the intercoolers and turbos being water cooled, fuel, management system wiring and whatever else...of course all this times two engines. The latest thing was to machine the new turbo housings (exhaust side) to mate up with the existing exhaust, of course to get more boost!...the whole affair seems to be custom built so for me its some nice work.
I will post some photos if I can get them.
Cheers

Phil,

I had my Motec/TWM EFI "tuned" and chassis dynoed at Second Street Speed, in Perkasie, Pa. (Southeastern Pa). Bill Hunsberger is the Motec guru there. He has boatloads (pun intended) of Motec experience. You can get Bill's phone number from their website. Well worth the call. He came very highly recommended. Reputed to be one of THE best EFI guys on the east coast. After dealing with him, I have no doubt that his reputation is well deserved.

Thanks for that info...Perkasie is relatively close to my shop (I am in North central west Jersey), I was there once a good while ago to pick up a part from Grainger if I remember. I will pursue that lead as the motors are in Allentown P.A, and shipping is a concern. Thanks again to all for the generous amount of help.
Cheers
